Let’s all celebrate SESAA’s fifteenth anniversary with
triumphant joy and thanksgiving! Triumphant joy, because we have survived and conquered
the odds that tested our will to transform our vision and dreams into reality. Today,
the San Esteban community is enjoying the fruits of our labor and sacrifices – scholarships,
incentive and recognition awards for the youth here and in our hometown, mutual/death
aid to members, a link to the San Esteban website, and financial assistance for
worthwhile community endeavors.
We thank our officers, members, advisers, and
all who have supported us. Your trust, persistence, and commitment made SESAA
what it is today! Above all, we do not forget to give thanksgiving to our Lord
for He has made all things possible for all of us!
Fifteen years ago at the founding of the SESAA,
I was a new immigrant, had nothing to offer, not even a car to use; but,
the thirty-nine other founders did not accept that as an excuse. My brother Everlino
volunteered to drive me to meetings. What did I have at the time? Nothing but the
best of intentions for my beloved townmates and relatives – from the abundance
of my heart!
The San Esteban Schools Alumni Association must
continue as an association with a good heart. It survived because its officers
and members served from the bottom of their hearts, and were willing to put service
to others above their personal pride and convenience.
Congratulations to all of us. We made it!
