The SEAM Team 2006 recently returned from their
three-day fourth successful mission to the
Philippines. Volunteers from New York, Michigan,
California, Hawaii and the local medical support
personnel treated nearly 2,000 sick indigent
residents of the town. As well as some from the
neighboring town of Santiago and Sta. Maria, Ilocos
Sur with various medical problems; i,e., acute
respiratory problems, diabetes, high blood pressure,
skin diseases and etc. Aside from the usual medical
treatments and medications being given free, the
Team also gave away significant amount of cash as
Christmas presents to the very needy residents. A
re-dedication of the SEAM clinic that was built in
December, 2005 was performed with SEAM President Dr.
Ben Galindo cutting the ribbon and his wife Adelle
Galindo assisting in unveiling the plaque of 2006
Donors. The TEAM also visited and donated boxes of
medications to Gabriela Silang Hospital in Vigan and
newly built City of Candon Hospital. The next fifth
mission is tentatively set for next year.
