For ART Sake: A
Trip To SBMhood
Part I

I am writing
this column to inform everyone that I got my
second mother’s blessings for me to run as an
Independent Candidate for Sanggunian Bayan
Member this coming May 14, 2007 elections.
My foster
Mother whom I call Auntie, Dr. Florence V.
Ramirez serves our town as the senior member of
the Sanggunian Bayan for three consecutive
terms. During her political career, I am
actively participating in her different
activities, giving her the support and doing
other charitable works that would benefit the
townspeople especially in line with tourism,
health & social services. Presently, I am
serving the town as a health representative from
the Rural Health Unit of San Esteban. I was
assigned to conduct weekly barangay visitations
to assure the health & sanitation of our
barangay folks. The knowledge that I have
acquired from my experiences and the full
support coming from the youth sector made me
decide to enter politics. Eventually, I will
continue the plans & programs that SBM Florence
V. Ramirez, M.D. has yet to fulfill if not her
last term as a member of the Municipal Council.
I earnestly swear
that I will not fail the trust and expectations
of my townmates. I pose with great reliance on
your much-solicited support for making San
Esteban a better place for the next generation.

Greetings from Joseph
Escobar Andino, Edna Abarintos Andino and
daughter Julia Marie of Rome, Italy

Joseph is my childhood friend and the
youngest son of Mr. Tito and Nita Andino. I am
completely pleased for his support to my
candidacy donating 12 printed campaign
paraphernalia for posting upon the start of the
campaign period. He was the first to contribute
for this movement. I anticipate and pray that
you persist to advocate the principles and
standards that we, as united in friendship, have
stood by all these years.
My sincere
gratefulness for your unconditional cooperation
and support for this endeavor.
Arturo “ART” Eligio Barrey filed his candidacy
last March 29, 2007, 8:15 A.M. as an Independent
Candidate for Sanggunian Bayan Member. With him
are Dr. Loralie Ramirez Espejo and the Election
Assistant, Mrs. Charen Tabin.
ART’S FEEDING & MEDICAL MISSION PROGRAMS
March 30, 2007 @ Sitio Mandulon, Cabaroan, San
Esteban, Ilocos Sur

Art started his campaign with his feeding
program sponsored by Maricon Espejo, Genevieve
Balino and Judith Monje of Australia. This
project under Social Services and Health aims to
conduct municipal-wide feeding program for
children to protect their health and ease
poverty.
Dr. Loralie R. Espejo who is “moonlighting” in
Ilocos was very cooperative to help Art in his
medical mission also. Although scarce in
resources, they managed to help people who are
suffering from common diseases of the community.
Moreover, the lectures and advices given to the
Sitio folks are very much appreciated as they
believe in the old adage, “An ounce of
prevention is worth a pound of cure.”

Art poses at his
tarpaulin in his headquarter, Dr. Florence
Ramirez’ residence. We thank the sponsors of his
candidacy who sent funds earlier: Joseph Andino,
Winston and Susan Europa, Bernadette Obille and
Judith Monje.
Art ran as an independent candidate and
obviously seen here that it is in scarce
resources as his posters and streamers are not
seen everywhere. With his visions and missions
of good governance and intentions, God willing,
he will make it.
Thank you very
much for your wholehearted cooperation and
support.
