Our town mates are very lucky and thankful for the recent medical mission sponsored by the family of Mrs. Cion Hernaez from Illinois, USA. It was held last December 22, 2003 at the town plaza. This project was initially suggested by Vice Mayor Norman Mendoza, during his visit to the Hernaez family in the United States last September 2003.

      Dr. Edward Hernaez, M.D., Family Practice and wife Dr. Nida Blankas Hernaez, M.D., Pediatrics, Mrs. Pauline Hernaez Abadilla, R.N. and husband Medardo Camello, and Lorna Hernaez Camello, R.N. and husband Jun Camello from Illinois were among the children and in-laws of Mrs. Cion Hernaez who spearheaded the said medical mission. Sangguniang Bayan Member Dr. Florence Ramirez also played an important role during the event. The San Esteban Municipal Health Office Employees assited and helped during the medical mission. More than one thousand patients were assisted.

      The legislative body of our town presented a Municipal Resolution of Appreciation to the Hernaez Family of Chicago, Illinois who sponsored the Illinois Medical Mission and the distribution of Christmas Love Gifts to 1,500 households in San Esteban.
