Barangay San Nicolas Fiesta
May 13, 14, & 15, 2005
This is the barangay I thought will not hold its fiesta celebration. The barangay council decided finally and with the help of donors from the website and other kind hearted townmates, the fiesta pushed thru. A basketball tournament participated by five sectors competed. Parlor games were held and On May 13 , parlor games were held and at 7pm is the Bingo sa Plaza where many people came to relax and have fun. The plaza was filled up and the bingo games ended at 11.30pm.
On May 14 is the Barangay Mass officiated by Fr. Boy Legaspi after which a Thanksgiving Dinner was held at the residence of Vice Mayor Norman Mendoza. People from all over the town came to congratulate the Vice Mayor. Then it was time for the Barangay Night where an instant coronation was held. Results are, the Queen Agnes Mariano, wife of Lito Mariano, 1st Princess Lynn Benemerito Funtanilla , daughter of the outgoing Queen Cristeta “Titay” Benemerito and 2nd Princess Lanie Guzman Rafanan from Bigbiga. Crowning Guest is Vice Mayor Norman Mendoza who gave a very touching speech regarding reconciliation of opposing political parties. The affair was attended by many municipal officials and the barangay captains of San Pablo and San Rafael.
On May 15 is the Search for Miss Lakambini Ikatlong Lahi participated by gay contestants all of whom are from San Esteban. As expected many people not just from San Nicolas came to watch the program. The stage was decorated by Arthur Barrey & Rina Estraela. Contest organizer is Mrs. Didi E. Obille. The Board of Judges are Chairman Mrs. Rosabella Casimiro Aquino; Members, Marivic Meram, Ms. Chelo Mendoza, Mrs Estrella Europa , SBM Rio Vergara, Mrs. Jovy Duran Calip. Emcees are Ms. Sabel Vergara and Bernadette Obille. As expected, the winners were Jumar “Mamay Ganda” Ea, Johnny “Jane” Balonzo and Romy Cabasal in the same order as the results of the Miss Cappa Cappa. Mayor Abad and Mrs. Bella Aquino crowned the winner.
