The United Filipino Council of Hawaii (UFCH) held its Annual Progress Award last January 20, 2006 at the Ilikai Hotel in Waikiki. The big event was attended by over 500 Filipino community leaders and guests. There were 16 categories of awards, i,e., education, entertainment, entrepreneur, centennial edition on the category of “Healthcare and Medicine”. Dr. Galindo is currently the President of the San Esteban Aloha Mission. He is on the Radio KNDI every Friday of the month from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. as Medical Advisor during the Medical Mission Forum Program. He was briefly involved with Aloha Medical Mission, Sirmata 2004 Mission, and Bayanihan Clinic Without Walls. He is actively involved with several local Filipino community non-profit organizations. Dr. Galindo and his wife Adele of over 40 years are the 2005 Parents of the Year given by the Philippine Cultural Foundation of Hawaii.
Dr. Galindo is a proud former resident of Barrio Tamurong (Bateria). San Esteban, Ilocos Sur. He is a graduate of San Esteban Academy and 1977 medical graduate of University of Hawaii Medical School in Honolulu. He retired as a U.S. Army Medical Officer in 1994 and is currently in Solo General Practice at Westgate Center in Waipahu, Hawaii. He has seven full time and part-time employees in his clinic.
